wheel prep for graphite

Dont know how much you race or how important it is to you but Black Ice kit is kinda the industry standard. That being said people have used just about any combo of every product you can think of.

I just ordered the black ice kit and zero friction graphite....funny you say that....I used hob-e lube at my pack race and finished 2nd overall....I relubed with max-v for districts and it slowed me way down, on the same track! Our pack volunteered our track for the race

Good move! That is some great product. Not that the Hob-e-lube or the Max V is bad stuff, but what you ordered in my humble opinion is better!

Just remember even if it was the same track that they might have not had the hill set at the same angle. Or maybe you cars had a wiggle or two at districts?

Anyway, I would be shocked if you were disappointed in what you ordered ....good stuff!

Good luck with your races. Let us know how it turns out.

I'm about an hour away from Harrisburg superslow.....yeah, I can't wait to use the stuff...my son wants to go fast, he's been 2nd in the pack overall the last 2 years, so we're going with a rail riding ladder car....pulling out all the stops this year! Lol

I wasn't doing any wheel prep before....I would just get lightweight wheels and call it good....I'll have access to the track this year, my friend is the new race chief and he's going to do some dry runs before race day....more than enough time to dial it in

How are you drilling the car? Getting the drill right with getting the weight close REALLY makes a huge difference! Then the wheel prep and fine tuning of the car gets that last hundredth or two for a Scout car. The drill/alignment is the foundation of the build. If this is good, then everything else can be built upon that. Lots to read about the drill on this site.

Good luck!
