Wheel width

I'm running in an awana grand Prix this year and this is the first year we can modify the width of the wheels. Should I make them narrow or leave them alone?

lighter is better, so narrow them as much as rules allow.

Should I also narrow the dfw if I'm rail riding or will that mess me up?

Make all the wheels as narrow as possible just make sure the rim of the wheel is not hitting the body. How do you plan to narrow them?

Not sure, I was thinking of spinning then in a drill press while I cut them with a Razer nife.

If I cut my dfw narrow my cars not going to run centered down the track.

If you make homemade razors and leave the hubs intact (not a terrible idea), you're going to want to inset the DFW wheel so that the distance between the inner edge of the wheel and the rail is the same as it would be with a fat wheel. If your alignment is good, I imagine you could go without insetting the rears.
