Hello ..... how long are a good set of race wheels (DD, DE, JEWKES) good for? Are the pros using them for one race event or over and over again? If used multiple times, I assume they are washed and reprepped before each use but are the bores polished as well or is a a one step endeavor at the initial prep? Thanks

I have wheels I have raced for a year. As long as you are racing them on well prepped tracks and you take care of them, they should last for a while. I will re-prep when they start to slow, and if I can not get the speed back, I look to replacing one or all of them.
Sometimes you get a dud I think. My daughter's car this year ran Dynasty Rage wheels. Had one pack race on our 4 lane best track and aroumd 10 test runs. Track that is in great shape. Had the hub broke off after 2nd test run last night before district. Thankfully had extra stock wheel that I placed on raised wheel and took that good wheel and placed in place of broken one.

Like Ed mentioned, I'll reprep the wheels when the car slows down.
For a hub to break out of a Rage wheel is very unusual. I can see it happening rather easily in a Mid America wheel or a Street Pro wheel. But a Rage wheel has very little weight removed from the inside part of the wheel. Either the car crashed in the stop section, was dropped or there is a chance that there was a issue when the wheel was molded.

The scout I am mentoring car won the pack with an average speed of 3.028 with prepped, out-of-the-box, untouched, wobbly BSA wheels using oil on a regulation length Best Track. Each run the car was getting faster and setting a new track record. But we are not sure if the dirty graphite track contaminated our wheels? Should we re-prep or hold fast. Another option is moving to a tuned BSAX Wheel that is lighter and true that fits our rule set. So do you recommend switching wheels with a fresh prep or sticking to the old? I think the smoother running wheels will add speed initially above the BSA stock wheel average and only get faster. All things being equal, do you think the new wheels can shave off .03 seconds? Thanks.
If it is my car, I'd be going with the BASX wheel that will meet your rules.
