Where to put the extra weight

Our district race doesn't specify 3 or 4 wheels . If I show up with 4 on the car and allowed to remove one of the fronts, where do I put the 2 grams of tungsten putty?? I would assume under the fdw so that com doesn't change. Will this affect the tuning???

First off, don't just remove the wheel because you think it will help. You need a guide pin to replace that wheel, that car could go flying when it gets to the stop sections, thats if you have the tune right and it don't fly off the track before the end. /images/boards/smilies/wink.gif There is a reason why guys use a guide pin.

So, you ask if you it will affect your tune. I'd say yes, because that 2 grams was in a different location. If you really have that car dialed with the 4th wheel in place you have a chance that it will change the tune. So if you want to run 3 wheels then tune the car that why in the first place. This way you can figure out where to put that 2 grams somewhere else. /images/boards/smilies/wink.gif

Always put the extra weight to the rear!

AS Oparennen said, put the extra weight in the rear, never in the front. I did some experiments years ago where to put the extra last weight. THE worst place was under the dfw.
