Kinser,
I have a track, but no place to put it.
Actually, I have some space, but it's only enough for 28ft, and NO stop section (well, if you want to count a pillow, LOL!). I have a 4ft tuning board, which helps a lot, but still isn't long enough to fine tune my steer.
Bottom line is that I am always scratching my head when I compare my track results with the race results. Sometimes, I get good track times, and my car runs slower than expected. My guess is that my steer is good for the short run, but not right for the last 14ft, or my prep wasn't as good as it seemed. Other times, I have had "slow" home track runs, and ended up with good race results (good prep but not optimal short run steer
). It's amazing, though, how well I can do if I have the chance to tune on a full length track.
