NOW !!! is the time people need to get registered ... registration closes soon ... you can register at the event live but it costs more ... and if you are proxy racing you will want to get things rolling - Happy Easter --- less than 2 weeks until this years Mid America Pinewood Derby

Greg, congrats on another Mid-America race. I have been out of the scene for a while but trying to re-engage. This may be the perfect place for me to catch up with all my old friends, new friends, and people questioning my friendship. Best of luck on a successful race!

Thank you sir - it is Crunch time - you should come up with John again - we have some great things going on and it would be an awesome Welcome Back - I know several guys are going to be here... would love to have you.

And... as a reminder this year we again will be doing Tons of Awesome prizes - Micro Scroll Saw... from Proxon, Tons of great things from Dremel, Best Track has provided us two certificates (one for a new best track and another for a new timer), the prizes pictures will begin to get posted on Facebook later this week as again there will be a LOT of Awesome items... numbers for the racing are getting up there -- Pro's need to make sure to use the "Pro" Registration Link - found on the home page of www.midamericaderby.com

I know that several National Champions will be at the event and I have several cars that will be rolling down the Big Time Majorly Upgraded Track - it will be interesting to see who gets to put their names in this years records books and help support and propel an event that is truly good for the hobby and everyone involved. Only 6 days left for the online registration

Truly
Greg

Just sent my son's car this afternoon. He is excited to watch the race on our TV. Thanks.

My grandson, myself, our friends Chuck and his son Chucky are ready to send our fleet. Hopefully I'll have them in the mail tomorrow morning.

I'd clean those wheels off if I were you. Graphite all over the wheel tread is not fast - maybe a little on the edge that rides the rail, but not elsewhere.

Makes a mess on the track too.

The graphite burnished into the treads has no effect on the track. It's just all the loose graphite poured into the bores that makes the mess.

That being said, RickMc, I would recommend taking a magic eraser to the back wheels to clear off the graphite, though. You don't want your tail end swishing around loosely on the track.

I forgot to mention: Nice looking fleet!

Maybe so. I've yet to see anyone at our races who had graphite on the tread with a clean wheel otherwise, so could be falling off from elsewhere.

I also admit to being totally anti-graphite. But I recognize some packs don't have the option.

I've tried graphite on the edge and I get mixed results. All in all, I would not do it and clean the edge as well. clean wheels are fast wheels. Then again, I have never been in the top 4, so who knows...

Now, about that New England Patriots graphic....I see a NY Giants graphic more desirable. Just sayin' :)

I wish I'd have read your post this morning before I shipped our cars out....I didn't think that graphite would hurt any. Dang it!

Lol, my grandson won his pack and district races with that car on my profile picture so I thought we'd press our luck and ride out that Super Bowl win...

I wish I'd have looked here at everyone's replies before I had shipped our cars this morning. Thanks for the compliment, I gues it's better to have a good looking car that loses as opposed to an ugly looking loser...lol
