That's still a great license plate. I found the live feed. Looks like the boys did fairly well. They made it to the final 12. Not sure where the ended up in the finals. Where is the sibling video feed?
Scroll to the beginning of the Adult Track Video stream.

The Atofau kids were REALLY fast at Mid America this time. I was helping one of the scouts in the open oil division and he had the same problem I do lately. Wiggles.

I have a new bore polish method and they are NOTICEABLY more slick, and that helps going forward. Unfortunately it also seems to "help" it wiggle side to side more easily. Tightening my gaps helped, but I apparently need to make more adjustments.

Hi Rick,

Well at least you had a chance to go to MA. I hope you grandson had a good time. I am sure he will do better next year,

Will make sure I have a HWKZRUL car ready for next year. I am trying to watch my kids car but I don't think they are showing the sibling races on the live feed. Did you see the Moana car or Seahawks car.
I am sorry to say...I did not get to watch the Seahawks or the Moana cars, I was too busy trying to console my grandson, texting my wife with updates and instructions on how to find the live feed and texting our friends who had cars in the race who kept asking if I saw the wiggle in their car?, how are we doing rank wise?, did we race yet? are they still racing? We lost the feed!, it's back on!, lol!!!
....I am sorry that I missed your cars. The sibling races we're going on at the same time as the open Scout graphite races too. I was standing next to and talking to the guy who's son won 2nd place in the open Scout graphite division and we were rooting for them to win. Their car was running on average between 2.93 and 2.94. My Patriots car was running at 3.00 on average in the adult race. Now we have a goal...lol!!!

Hi Cramjet,

Thanks for the update. How did you do at MA?

I was hoping to see my girls Moana car run. For some reason the video play back has been removed. When I tested it on the track at home it seemed fast for a graphite car.

Hi Rick,

Well, maybe next year we will be with you at the races. There was a lot going on at the races. The folks running the event were really busy.

The average of 3.00 for a graphite car is not bad. Next year I am sure you will be running with the lead pack. One of the keys to getting fast is just building and racing the cars to see what works. I just started racing with the big boys so I am learning a lot. The more I build, the faster I get.

Just keep asking questions and if there is anything I can do to help you get faster just let me know.

Hope to see a Patriot car at the pro races. The NPWDRL has a Box Stock Am class for beginners. I would recommend you jump in if you have the time.

Take care,

Joe

Hi Joe, the winners in the open Scout race I was told used sliders on the wheels. I had tried to find clear ones but couldn't. Hopefully, next year we'll do better. I also noticed they sanded the fender to a sharp front edge, instead of leaving them squared off or rounding them. I'll have try that.

When is the NPWDRL race for box stock?

Did you find out how the kids did.
Did I mention how great everyone was at Mid America was? Greg Dawes and his wife treated us like family, they were great. Also got to talk to several other people involved with Mid America including Mark Claas who allows Mid America to use his building for this awesome event.

My grandson and I just got back home at 10:10 Pm tonight, it rained almost the entire trip.. What a long drive but it was well worth it.

I can't thank Greg and his entire crew, who put in a lot of time and hard work to make this happen. It was Awesome!!!

Hi Rick,

I am glad you and your grandson made it home safely. Your grandson sure looks like he was having a great time. Thanks for sharing the picture. It is good to put a face to a name and nice to see you grandson as well.

Gregg does a great job with MA. I hope to get a chance to meet him someday.

I found out that my Bear, Hawks car, came in 4th. My Tiger came in 11th. This was a nice surprise to do so well. I don't know how my daughters car did. I hope her car did well.

The next box stock car race is this weekend May 6th. But there will be races every month starting in June. I hope to see one of your cars at the NPWDRL races. It would be good practice for you and your grandson. You should look up NPWDRL so you can see the race schedule.

Take Care Rick and thanks of sharing the photo.

I just noticed that the Eastman's were disqualified in the mid-america. Why? Or did they just drop out.
I am almost positive they ran in the final.
I can't think of any reason someone could be disqualified from that class other than running oil. Maybe they failed the post-race inspection?
I'm sure the car didn't get heavier during the race.
The class is pretty much anything goes as long as you use BSA Wheels and graphite.
