Hey folks, I'm just wondering, are wood tracks faster than aluminum? I'm asking because I've been testing my car on a 42' best track. Today I ran my car on a wooden track. The builder of the track told me it was the same length as a 42' best track. He went on to tell me it had the same 84" section before the curve and that the curve was the same as the best track and start gate to finish line was the same length.
My times are better on the wooden Track and I'm trying to figure out if it's because this guy takes great care of his track or because wood is just faster.

Too many variables to compare track to track, but everything being equal, wood is ABSOLUTELY slower. Maybe the ramp angle is steeper? Start gate differences and/or timer start/stop triggers?
