Got my polishing kit from DD4H the other day with the upgrade to red rocket. Instructions say to use the no scratch applicators with the red rocket. Question i have is what do you use with step 1. Is that what the q tips are for just cut the fluffy part off and use the shaft?

Don't spin the shafts too fast in the wheel bore or you'll melt the bore and ruin the wheel. Slow and steady wins the race here when polishing the wheel bore.

Thanks for the help, I was looking at DD4H website looking at his wheels the bASX BSA wheels. one of the options is size 1.170 and 1.180 what would be the advantage or disadvantage to either or. Our pack requires dry lube only and was wondering if his dvd would be beneficial to me? also what is the best way to remove the step on the bsa wheels. i bought a pro hub shaver but it doesn't work very well. just makes a mess of the step.

I had trolled many threads to gather what information I could and recently just DD4H's DVD...get the DVD, it'll save you a lot of time in terms of trying to find the info yourself. Regarding helping you with the dry lube, yes, at one point during the wheel and axle prep he tells you when to stop if you're using graphite.
Lastly, regarding the wheel prep, best to start with his basic set of wheels versus you trying to shave everything yourself. You'll save yourself a lot of time and $$ if you just cut to the chase. I can understand if you want to try your hand at it first cause I did the same, but after spending hours in the garage and wasting many wheel sets, I accepted that I'd been there and done that.

I coulda given you a good price on a outer wheel hub thing, a pro wheel shaver, and a bunch of other useless stuff that now sits in a box way up on a high shelf.

The HuB Shaver tools is a piece of you know what. If you want good wheels done right, just spend the cash on DD4H wheels. You can't go wrong there. Check your pack rules on whether or not you can use lightened wheels or not. The DVD is invaluable just for the axle prepping alone. Even if you don't use oil. That's my opinion.
I dont mean to thread jack, but from those of you that have the dvd, does it go over the process of using the silver bullet by any chance?

4wheeldrift- Buy the wheels. Sometimes it pays to pay. Yes use the Q-tip and cut the Q-tip at an angle so it fits. It'll be tight and you'll hear a squeak when you turn it in the bore (15-20 rotations). There's been some recent threads started on graphite wheel prep if you search for it.

I'm prepping my car for the next race and wasn't sure if I could get jigaloo in time. I found something similar I guess it will have to do. It will be my first npwdrl race can't wait to see what it will do!!!
