I use this method for my kids Scout cars, and they are 1-2 thousandths faster then pin gage I used last year. Not sure if because of this or a list of other things but they are faster this year. You just have to be very careful with that wire in the pipe cleaner not to scratch bore.

My boys have their own style, so I let them draw it out and design the body and made them do the axels and wheel prep. The red one is (weblo 1) Titan and the blue one is (wolf) Apollo. They came in first and second at districts last year, so a lot to live up to.

I may be mistaken but DD4H does not have an option for bent axel that is not polished from him.

The white one is just stickers from the scoutshop. The flames I freehand masked off and let my son shoot it with three different fades of spray paint. My oldest has to have a penny glues to his car every race so this time it’s on top LOL

As my kids and o get ready to prepare cars for districts I thought I would post pics from our last in person district race last year. My scouts took first and second place overall. My youngest won with his car Blaze, and my oldest came in second with electron.

I know everyone has their secrets, but which oils are working best these days. I used regular oil without any secret formula. Also, wheel bore prep. Which ones seem to work the best. I don’t want to spend a lot of money I do t really have on those that won’t be as competitive. I know...

Time to get back to drawing board. Fun race really enjoyed seeing everyone’s masterpieces race this evening.

I’m not a pro by any means, but if you make another body I would relax the holes by installing axles before cutting it into a ladder. Install a couple times in each hole then cut out the weight. My two cents which have worked for me.
