Excited for the ride on this build!
If I may ask... what are you using to cut your pockets?
Any particular reason for a solid car then a hollow? I am getting ready to start our cars and trying to decide if I go all out with hollow or do a solid body not taking pockets all the way through.
Keep it coming!

LOL ! ! ! !

You will learn... When someone posts a picture, look at everything in there...

I generally try to keep my area clean, but with all of the cubs that have been at the house this year working on cars, it is next to impossible... and sometimes, things I prefer do not get known, get shown. LOL.

Yes, I use just a cheap scroll saw from harbor freight. The hollow car is my build and the solid one is my sons. He does most of the work on his car by himself with my guidance. As he’s only 9 I don’t trust him yet with the scroll saw to do detail work. He’s fine for rough cuts. Like cutting his body profile. To try and keep is car build fair I make him use only what comes in the box. Mine on the other hand is built with parts from DerbyDad4Hire block and all.

Show what you know, cuz the more you show, the faster I go! LOL

If you don't trust him with the scroll saw you can always give him a coping saw, less change serious damage to limbs. Maybe you want to leave a little more wood on the sides but that all depends on his skills.

I have that same scroll saw, been using it for years. One thing I didn’t like about it was the flexible plastic piece in the center of the table that is also not flush. I fixed that issue by epoxying a wooden support disc to the bottom of the plastic disc then shimming it flush with the table. It works so much better now.

Is that the Silver Bullet a couple pics back?
I’m just using the rotating table on the drill press at 3*. I already threw a bunch of $ on the card so getting one of these will have to wait for next year. Maybe. Hope to drill holes this weekend so I can get bodies cut. Will check and double check to make sure table is perpendicular to the drill chuck to keep from toeing Wheel & axle polish kits from DD4H should be here any day.
Nice work on the axle. Trying to see... is there a grove now just under the head? Are you also going to cone the head as well?

Thats brave. I would trust a shim or a pin/drill bit under a block than the table setting, and even that it sketchy. Let us know how you make out.

Brave and stupid. Just proved the table isn't perpendicular to the drill chuck. But here’s the catch... I’m not wtg. Drilling holes is my first step and it’s time to get started. I noticed when I shimmed andnof a body block the end was parallel with the drill bit and also have a level on the block and the bubble is in the middle. So I could do that before each drill attempt.
I did anyway drilling on a block left over after cutting body out last year abdbsee both sides are toed out.
Not sure I can stand wtg unless I can find someone willing to overnight ship if I pay shipping. Someone had SB for sale I think just havevto remember. Will have to look again. Need something on the cheap and fast.

I’ll let you use my SB if you live close enough. KEY to having a fast car!

Thanks so much for the offer!!! But sadly im not close. Im north of Detroit in MI. I couldn't wait. I am able to get good square holes done with the drill press. Just takes extra work. I am definitely getting an SB or Jewkes Block jig, Cant afford the Pro or the clear jig. Should be able to pick up a used SB for not too much. I will use that for my commitment to pro both here and over at APR. I have a spare BSA kit just sitting here wtg to be made into a BASX or BS car.
Thx again tho Rebel. That is very kind of you to offer. Greatly appreciated!!!
