2012 Season

The 2012 season is close to being finalized. I am going to be meeting with Slope later tonight and I need to talk with DNA to finalize dates.

  • 2012 highlights:
  • 4 main series classes: Pure Stock, Stock, Modified and Xtreme
  • Rules will be same for all venues
  • Independant short series and races that will feed the National rankings and National Championship title race
  • All racers are welcome
  • Rookie of the year awards
  • Quickest results and videos posted
  • All races covered on one website with National rankings tracked with each event
  • Racing will begin in January!
  • Current venues and series are West Coast Derby (Utah), CCRL (North Carolina), Cabin Fever Classic and Scouter Nationals (Kentucky)
  • We are still looking to add more venues and events to sanction!
Dates and more information will start coming out tonight and tomorrow.

Sounds awesome John. Like i said in another post, 2012 will be the best PWD season yet! Thanks to the CCRL for working with John to make this multi-venue series work. I am officially PUMPED for January!

This is a time when I should say lets all put the past behind us and give 2012 a fresh start and hold hands and feel the love. But I'm not going to do that....we all know how that is going to end

.

So what I am going to say is this. If you race on the NPWDRL circuit in 2012 you will at some point race against the best builders in the country. Multiple venues insure everyone will have to race proxy at some point. The competition is going to be fierce and it is going to be fun. If you can run the gauntlet in 2012 you deserve to be crowned the best the sport has to offer....A true NPWDRL Champion!

So are you in or are you out?

John, how about implementing my idea re. Sub-3 recognition. I.e. 2.99X = BRONZ; 2.98X = SILVER; 2.97X = GOLD.

I was also thinknig that we could also calculate a formula that would include all four classes. I.e. add the four times up for each class, perhaps divide by 4, and create a recognition similar to the above.

OPA,

Your idea has been discussed. What is going to be even more of a challenge...is hitting the benchmarks for speed on multiple tracks

Sounds great!!!! Like OPA boys and girls this is the time we all need to put in our ideas for this league. John is open to any and all.. With this kind of set-up nobody can claim the home track advantage "Just as Reso pointed out"

I'm Stoked

Multiple tracks can be handled with a formula. E.g. Each time when my cars are returned after a race, I run them on my track and create a formula so with future testing I can get an idea of how the car will do on the PDDR track. I did the same comparing my track with SoGon's. It is not absolutely exact, but mighty close. Just set up 4 cars and send them to each track, and use that formula.

Or maybe make it less of a big deal, and just create a recognition separately for each track.

Just throwing out an idea, but maybe far down the priority scale.

The way I understand it Opa is that you will be sending cars to seperate locations throught out the year.

I say lets keep it simple. You're sub 3 or not. You hold a track record or not. You win or you don't. The current way that points are kept, works. IMO to much fluff gets complicated. Everybody's a winner and everybody feels good doesn't fuel the fire. /images/boards/smilies/wave.gif

The racing that has been preliminarily discussed with me is as follows. The dates for races and different venues will be staggered. You can race only at your Home track if that is what you would like to do.Or you can race at an "away" track and gain more National points. You would most likely be racing a different group of guys "away". That would be 2 races a month. Then there is national events i.e. dash for cash, scouter nats, nationals... all would contribute to your overall standings.. Of course none of this is set in stone yet and it is just in it's infancy . Short and sweet of it all, the more you race the more points you get. For an example "Top Dogs" that normally finish higher in the standings can harvest more points easier and may not have to race as much as a racer who is finishing lower. The lower racers will have to build more and race more to keep up. Keep in mind... again this is all being worked out.. This why all of our input is important to correctly shape this cool circuit..
