HOLY COW !! WHAT A NIGHT !!
Finally got everything as good as it is going to get by tomorrow so here is a look at the finished product
I got everything onto the scale for my daughters car and wouldnt you know it ,, Ended up at 5.1 oz. . So just take out a cube right , sure no problem I have a fresh pack of tungsten putty ready to go. Not thinking the Gorilla Epoxy would withstand the apocalypse. I broke 4 razor blades and a screwdriver trying to chip out 1 little cube and decided to give up before I accidentally damaged the car. I ended up having to gut out the entire ladder section and sand down some of the wood under the nose but I got it down to 5.0 and even 4.9 so I should be good . Here she is ..... I think my daughter is calling her "Blue Love "
Here is the aftermath of 0.1 oz of weight
Got the steering set between 6.5 and 7 inches so hopefully that will keep her straight on the track
SO NOW ON TO MY NEPHEWS CAR .....
I put on 3 nice coats of clear before i went to work and it was shining just right ,, I decided it was a little plain and all day planned on adding some details when i got home. I masked off the top of the car and measured 4 - 1/8 in stripes in from the edge of the car, left the first one covered to keep the blue , peeled back the second and 4th strips to leave a blue stripe in between them and sprayed some spray glue and dumped some extra fine gold glitter i had left over from last years car, peeled off the masking tape and sprayed a coat of clear and it was looking relly sharp. Then my nephew shows up and instead of packing the graphite in his wheels and polishing a set of axles while the last coat finished drying the wanted his wheels on the car to test it out , so after realizing the 6 year old has the attention span of a goldfish I say the heck with it and let me throw the wheels on to get him done so I can work on my daughters car. WELL .... the paint was a little tacky but i figured it was ok .... until i went to push in the axle and my thumb smeared the whole paint and pinstripe job over

Now the Paint is jacked up and the stripes are all fouled up and it got smeared right down to the prime coat. And to top it off we start to tune the car and he tells me he is bored and next time he comes over he doesnt want to do this.... Well your welcome kid ! To top it off the weights in the center were hanging a little low and getting caught on the rail so at 1 AM i was up grinding down the weights to clear the rail.......
Thats enough ranting for tonight, hope my daughters car passes inspection tomorrow and see how this blue bomb runs , It should be fast !!
