I like how it highlights the grain patterns, and gives it some natural color.
Well... My Wife brought home a "Toaster" for Homemade or Over sized bread, (OR! Pinewood Derby cars!!)
Yep, I'm toasting one, as I type!
Nervous of how it will turn out, I'm checking it every 10 seconds. So far, it's Golden Brown,(1min./40 sec.) but, I'd like a little- "Blackened grain", so I think it'll go another minute or two.
I could get the same result with a hand torch, but I couldn't resist using the new tool she bought me! LOL!
With a little sanding, and some clear stain, it should look pretty cool. I only wish, I would have weighed it, prior to toasting, to see how much 'wood weight' I've lost. Also, checking for twist, as I flip, roll, stand on edge, rinse, repeat, etc.
Anyone else do Natural Wood Look Cars?
