So, I've always been a fan, of wood burnt "Art".
I like how it highlights the grain patterns, and gives it some natural color.
Well... My Wife brought home a "Toaster" for Homemade or Over sized bread, (OR! Pinewood Derby cars!!)
Yep, I'm toasting one, as I type!
Nervous of how it will turn out, I'm checking it every 10 seconds. So far, it's Golden Brown,(1min./40 sec.) but, I'd like a little- "Blackened grain", so I think it'll go another minute or two.
I could get the same result with a hand torch, but I couldn't resist using the new tool she bought me! LOL!
With a little sanding, and some clear stain, it should look pretty cool. I only wish, I would have weighed it, prior to toasting, to see how much 'wood weight' I've lost. Also, checking for twist, as I flip, roll, stand on edge, rinse, repeat, etc.
Anyone else do Natural Wood Look Cars?

No cant say that I have, Although...I did manage to melt my street rod using the Fireplace...

one year my son and I built his car and used a wood burner to burn his name and such then we stained and cleared the body, imo one of the best looking cars we have built but no design award. did get fastest overall in the pack with it

No. The Toaster worked it's Magic, and I'm fine.
The car is - Lightly Toasted, and looks great!
Our house is nicely- Pine scented, and while I fully expected a smelly, toaster unable to De-Funk, the FUNK, It must have vented it elsewhere. (Up, and out!)
I'll post more later, so far, so good!

I'd be interested to see a picture as well. I went the hand torch route for my son's car, he liked how it turned out:
