AJBinVA: Introduction Thread.

Hello all,

I came across this board a week or two ago after my kids did well at their Awana Grand Prix and started looking for ways to extend the season.

The oldest and wife are interested in doing the league with me so we are gearing up to make some serious cars. I'm always gung-ho for anything we can all do together.

Our short term goal is to get some cars together to run BASX am and go from there.

Attached a picture of the wife's car that took 1st overall speed (3.1245 average), albeit slow for this group, on what I believe was a 42ft Besttrack. I believe the 5 cars we entered were the 5 fastest the slowest of the bunch averaging (3.1718) which I believe was due to shooting off the stop after the first run. The axle cracked through the bottom a little after I took a look at it when it was over.

Had a great time and looking to improve our times significantly.

Welcome to the family! Sounds like you have a lot of fun figured out, and doing it the right way. Getting the whole family involved is the way to go. That way everyone takes a part and is invested in the results. Pinewood Derby can be a lot of fun. Let us know if you have any questions. There are a lot of Pros on this board that love to help. I'm fairly new, just had my first Pro race, so I can say it's easy to get started and addictive. This group will support you and get you up to speed.

Yes nice job! We race in Awana as well and there’s also regionals and States... not sure if your area has that or not but it’s worth looking into as an avenue to continue racing also. I am in MI and here is bothbhere so we do get 2 more chances to race.
And to be honest... I moved on tonleague racing too. Our church got into the AGP 3 years ago and I was hooked! League racing is great.
You will get hooked!!! Lol
