does anyone know if there are any leagues in kansas? i would like to go to some events and watch, learn, ask questions.

Well I am in the north east and the closest to me is the one in Nebraska but reading their rules, I am not sure to many pros will attend, I have been wrong before though. You might check to see how far it is to the CFC for ya its only about 600 mile for me. I cant get the time off work or I would be going.
If you find anything other than just district races let me know please and thank you!

my son has his district race march 31st in independence ks. im looking at the one in omaha. this may be a good one for me to break into. i think i have my wife onboard. she said i could go if i take her and the kids to the zoo while we are there.

Now thats a good deal...ya may want to have her drop you off at the races and let them go to the zoo...they will probably get done before you do...haha
best of luck to ya

fat chance of that but a good idea anyway. what in your opinion as a beginner, what class for the race in omaha should i enter. it appears to me that the street stock has the same rules as BSA. am i correct on that?

Nevaehawk,

I hope you can make it to the Omaha race race, It's going to be a great day and there are a lot of activities going on to keep the kids entertained even when they are not racing, such as games and a build your own lego car, with a seperate track to race on. More details to come on the website so keep checking for updates.

Regarding which class to race in, if your son is a scout he is obviously welcome to enter a car in the Scout Division. Note that this race is not a Council only race, it's open to any Scout anywhere!

For yourself and siblings, there are two choices: you can enter the Open Class which has a kids and adults division (same rules as the scouts), and new this year we added a true league racer class called the Pro Division, which is the exact same class as NPWDRL Street Pro! It's of course open to anyone also.

I also know there will be league racers sending cars in and attending! For a Kansas "local" venue this is it. There's lots of other exciting stuff in the planning stages right now also, and as it's all confirmed we'll post it right away. I'm fairly certain several industry people like Best Track will be there. We also already have Scout proxy entries registered!

Back to your question, there is no standard BSA rules, so I'm not sure what you mean by that, but from a beginner standpoint the Open Adult class is the way to go, those rules are inbetween Street Stock and Street Pro, they were written to encompass as many local packs as possible so read the rules carefully and ask questions if you are unsure about what you can and can't do. I would suggest building a Pro car too, why not? Entry fee is only $5/car and why not see how well the car runs against the league cars? It would be a great benchmark and launching point for getting into league racing!
