Hey man. It’s all aero. Planks sanded down to thin wedge are nice and aerodynamic. Watch the league races. Other than the Street Rod and Door Slammer classes (1/24-25 scale bodies) all of the pro cars are thin wedge/planks. There’s just no reason to do it any other way if you are going for speed.

A lot are getting that way actually. I am just saying that the thin wedge/plank shape is most common. The 3D printed cars have the thin wedge shape as well.
Gotta admit, if I had a 3D printer there would be a lot less dust in the basement.
