Black Ice question

Just follow the video. The new #4 just wipes on and off after the wheels have cured.
For those of us who already have polishes 1,2 and 3 will the new #4 be for sale separately anytime?
As always, thank you for your tireless efforts to bring us the best products!

I use the Sally Hansonn on my Box Stock, thin layers & let sit awhile in between coats. Should be hard after sitting over night. Keep trying different things with the black ice system, you'll slowly find what works for you.
Hey Ballistic I went and checked my test spots of Sally Hanson and I can still easily put a finger nail print in it and it's been sitting for like 3 days now- what is the deal! I bought it on amazon correct number on the box and on the product I wonder if it's just crap polish packaged up - I am gonna go with the ca glue - any advice on how to use the ca glue ?I have read that guys put an axle in and put the glue around it and make it flat and even with a toothpick and then pull the axle before it sets- then what? High grit sandpaper and anything else?

Interesting. I bought some a couple years ago and it still dries and is hard as a rock.

Yeah, not sure what to tell you on that other than you're applying it a little too thick? I wipe the brush off pretty good before I use it so I get a thin layer. Go with the CA glue if this stuff isn't working for you.

Did you put this on raw wood, or did you prime it first? I've not used the nail polish, but I do wonder if this might be a case of the stuff soaking in the hardening agent. Also, try putting it into direct sunlight for a while.

Just some thoughts.

Thanks for the tips guys I'm not sure what's going on yet - tried the ca glue but when it came down to it last night was my last night to get the car down the track and tune it so I ended up not doing anything in the hub area. I was applying the Sally Hanson over the primed, painted, clear coated surface- i pushed on the clear coat area and it seemed really hard already.

B regal is that the stuff the delrins are made out of? Do you just apply to the side or do you inset into the body surface? Well maybe next car I will try some new things.

I ran the car down my 35' best track and first run was 2.48 after some brief tuning to remove wobbles I got it to do 2.475 - I put it away and called it good as it was already 3 in the morning. I hope it's good enough to take home 1st. My brother a couple years ago took the council with 2.49 so I've got high hopes.

Nationals was my 2nd pro/league race and the first race using the Black Ice polish (I have the 4 part system). I was just curious what other people do to reprep for the next race. Do you reapply all 4 parts or maybe just #3 & #4? I'm guessing it might partially depend on how the car did in the previous race?

I only have the 3 part system but I believe I was told to just reapply the 3rd step (Wax). I think you are only supposed to do the more abrasive polish the first time if I remember correctly. That's all I have done but I am new to this also, nationals was my first race. I believe I finished between your 2 cars if I remember right.

If the car doesn't fall off in speed, leave it alone. If you guys are running a couple of cars in the May race, run them & then work on your slower car until it's faster than the other. Your times will show different on Joel's track so this next race will be a good start for a base line time.
Don't go crazy with the reprep, more times than not you will end up killing your speed.

Thanks for the input guys. Who would have though that someone could spend so much time thinking about and enjoy tinkering with a block of wood with wheels and axels.

I just did my new set of wheels, the drop I used #3 didn't even cover the axle hole and I used caned air to blow out any excess and it still didn't haze at least not that I could see. The temp is set at 68 deg I live in Utah so there is next to no humidity and they sat for over 7 hours and if the heat turned on it would blow right on them. I believe it did at least once.

The new Black Ice kit has a different #4 and I am interested to see what it will do. It's not watery thin like what was in there before. It's like your typical liquid, non paste, car wax.
