Well since all my cars are still at DD4H,my wife didn't pick them up this last weekend when she was there. I spent a little time with one of the first cars that I had success with in league racing. The body of the car remains the same as it was but it is now running on some dynasty 92x axles, the wheels are even the original ones the DD4H cut for me a year and a half ago! Man have they been ran, this is the car that I take to pack races to race against the winners, the wheels have several 100 runs on them. The hubs are pretty beat but I still think it will run. The looseness in the hubs make it a little wobble, but I am hoping some of the things I've learned in the past while will help me correct it.

So here's the challenge Mr. Walnuts is a SS, and he wants to challenge any other SS that has been out of racing for a year or so. So if you think you have something for him bring it. The mob boss wants to put some fools in the ground!

NOT SO FAST I HAVE THE FIRST CAR THAT I BUILT BUT NEVER RACED THAT I AM WANTING TO TRY AND SEE HOW IT WOULD GO.

I still have the first car I every helped my oldes boy and I built. It still has the old wheels, thin and round, something like Royal Rangers use.
I will re-prep it so see if it's any good. In it's day, it won everyting, but that would be back in th early 70's.

I have my first car that I built for work the summer of 2011 (not counting my cub scout car that the wheels fell off on the first run). The work build is when my interest in pinewood derby started. I had a great time researching and building this car. It has the axles and wheels from the kit and is weighted with the pine car COG weights. I wish I would have known about tungsten cubes back then. I've been wanting to put some 92's and some Cheetahs on it to see how much faster it can go. Count me in.

Jan. 19 the season opener. Class SS. Mr. Walnut will be SO far GONE in front of you you'll have to do your nut cracking in the stop section when you can catch up!!

When is this race suppose to take place?

Do I run with the original wheels? Or do I have to change over to current SS wheels.
ALSO, the old car used larger diameter axles (actually nails at Home Depot) sanded to fit.
I think I would like to run original wheels and axles, if only to see what happens as compared to current stock.

Lets have it as a special class. Only old equipment no new stuff. kinda a classics class.. But since QT started this with Paulie Walnuts maybe this race should be called "The Nutcracker Suite"

For me this is more just to see if I can make a old car keep up with the newer cars. Also I think to would just me cool to see how far I have come from when I started to now. I think I will bring a couple of the boys first cars just to see how bad they get spanked!!

Ok, I have been reading this and would to possibly compete. If someone could tell when and where this will take place. I have my first from from 1972. Has the old hard plastic wheels. Someone please respond.

All the cars I race are the first cars I built. Most lead weighted at that. With time to prepare I can still make them as fast as any cars running on a given day, but alas it is time to move on. I will still make the Chetah line of wheels and am working on some new ideas for wheels in the street pro class. Good luck on the track racers!!!! John please send me back my cars at your convinience.
