Nice job guys! Great start to the 2015 year! I do like not seeing a bunch of QT names for each class /images/boards/smilies/smile.gif

Have to give a special congrats to Opa, who threw down some serious speed this past series. Watch out pros - he would have been top 5 in SS. Tre is not far behind either.

I could have sworn that I read on here that everyone has to earn their pro status at each series? So in the first race everyone runs together then they're split up depending on whether they're faster or slower than the predetermined time cutoff? So it's not really a foregone conclusion that Opa is going to the pros unless he eclipses the time cutoff in the first race of the next series?

I have to go look for that post now and see if I read it wrong.

This is what I read:

There really is no need to change many rules as the classes were all very successful.

The only changes are:

Street Rod:
No convertibiles
No open wheeled cars

Street Stock and BASX will have Pro and AM classifications. The rule for which classification you will fall under is:

The Street Stock pinewood derby class will be made up of 2 internal classes: Pro and Amateur. You will be placed into a classification after your first race of the series and will race that classification for the remainder of the 3 month series. Any builder that runs a 2.973 or faster will be placed in the PRO ranks with the remainder being placed in the AM class. If you miss the first race then you will automatically run with the AM class for your first race and if you make the qualifying PRO time then you will be placed in the PRO class. The classification will reset with every series. All builders must earn their PRO classification every series.

The BASX pinewood derby class will be made up of 2 internal classes: Pro and Amateur. You will be placed into a classification after your first race of the series and will race that classification for the remainder of the 3 month series. Any builder that runs a 2.985 or faster will be placed in the PRO ranks with the remainder being placed in the AM class. If you miss the first race then you will automatically run with the AM class for your first race and if you make the qualifying PRO time then you will be placed in the PRO class. The classification will reset with every series. All builders must earn their PRO classification every series.

True, true.

If they don't adjust the cutoff down, though, I might be able to get in the pro class! lol

You don't want to beat up on me in the Am class? You know, I don't mind...

I posted this one year ago almost to the day:

I still feel the same way! lol

Bullet, I read that there won't be an Am class at the Nationals.

It would make the races more efficient. It would also be cool for some of the newer guys to get to race in the lane next to the likes of QT, Kinser, WK, Hogans and JBD...

I'm picking up hockey for the first time (at my age), and I think it helps to get out and play with people a lot better than me...see what its supposed to be like! lol
