Council / MA

This was the best council we have attended. They actually enforced the rules and a few people change their wheels. Our wheels were just barely legal. They actually made you take off a wheel at the end so they could inspect the axle and weight the wheel. That part was a little nerve racking even though I knew we were legal because everyone is watching the overall winner get inspected and hoping they don't pass. The go-no go weight was 2.4g. The first time they put our wheel up there it was 2.3g. They cleared the scale and weighted again and it was 2.4g. A few people were mumbling about the cant, but they said it was fine. They only cared that all 4 wheels touched. The more times we race the more nervous I am with am untested car. I believe second place was around 3.08 and we were at 3.05 with the fastest run of the day at 3.04.

Congrats! What's the little trophy for?

The way the race was run is you ran in your rank, tigers, wolves, bears, and webelos. The winner in each raced in the grand finale. The small one is for 1st in webelos and the big one was first overall. I think it would have better to take top 2 or 3 because I think the 2nd and 3rd fastest cars were webelos. I say that because top 3 won 2 tickets to an indy car race tomorrow which cost about $45 each.

I had pre-prepped axles and wheels waiting on the car. I installed them last night. This is my first time attempting to run the rears reversed. I also reversed the non-DFW and put tape over it. I figured if everyone else is doing it I might as well. Just dropped the car in the mail for MA. We will see.

Congrats for the council win. How light were your MA rear wheels? Did you use spacers and or washers to clear the reversed rear wheels? Good luck at tomorrow's race.

The are one gram wheels and I reversed them and used spacers. Also, I saw the final list of times from council and it does appear the disqualified a couple of cars after pulling and inspecting the wheels and axles.

Razor wheels out of stock wheels huh? And this was a scout race with adult classes? I guess you'll never get the scout to build their own car even with adult classes. I actually let my son built these 2 cars. I cut the car but all the prep was him. Next time we are using cheetahs. MA wheels and an 8yr old are not a good combination.
