I guess paint and stickers weight more than I thought. My options are try drill into the back wood puddy cylinders and remove some small weight disk or drill holes in car. I dont know how many holes .13 oz is.

What scale are you using to weigh on? The official scale may weigh it differently. Keep in mind that a scale that only shows in 1/10ths will see 5.04 as 5.0. If it were me and the situation allows, I would get to the race nice and early, weigh there and then make adjustments if necessary.

I did the same thing last year. I just kept drilling and sanding until it made weight. Then I used packaging tape to cover the holes. The car won 1st in pack and 2nd in council. You got this!

What are your rules? Can you mod wheels? Does it say you have to have 4 wheels?

Here’s a few pictures of my kids car from last year. Looked awful, but by Cub Scout standards, it was very fast.

I have 2 scales. One I got at hobby lobby store that weighs to the 100th oz as well as other weights like grams and the best one at my work that is inclosed in a glass box to get draft and air movement out that measures to 1000th of a oz.

Thanks for the help Brian! We are defending champs by a landslide so not clueless at all. Forsure we get there early. I have thunston puddy for needed weight in a small drilled hole in bottom back of car and my drill if over to get to 5.000 oz.
Our car is in better shape now. I attempted to drill out wood first and saw this was gonna be way to many ugly holes and still iver weight so I did drilled out the wood puddy and dump out the tungsten weight and start over. The holes I drilled out i routered a nice 1/4 small rectangle sanded and shot spray paint in there. Now the car weighs 4.96oz. I still need a 1" shot of paint and gloss on the back. So end result a lighter car up front so looks like a faster car.

Off topic, but I wonder this every time I see someone post these car speeds. Why do these car statistics always say the cars are going 200+ mph? What does that stand for? Clearly, they're not going 200 miles per hour. If that were the case, these cars would be traveling more than twice the speed of a world class pitcher's fast ball. The spectators would need to be in riot gear. Does the M stand for meters or something?

I believe that is the speed they would be going if full sized cars. Like the tire rotation on a full sized car spinning at the speed of the small ties would be going pretty fast but they really going maybe 8?
Also the length of time they travel over 6" the leanth of a derbycar. If that was full size 12 foot car they be going like 200.....
