Seems like it'd be helpful if they could just give a 'yes' or a 'no' about the axle location. "Might have to honor it" doesn't dispel any fears that there won't be a last-minute DQ at check-in...and axle position isn't something you can fix in a half an hour.
Maybe you could politely explain that your boys would really like to race their cars they made at Districts, so it would be really helpful if you could get a definitive answer on that.

I'd be a little growly about the "loophole" language, since following the rules is not the same as looking for loopholes.
