Eliminator Axles w/o Grooves

I was surprised to see John's new Eliminator axles in his store site http://www.shop.derbydad4hire.com/The-Dynasty-84-Eliminator-Axle-NO-GROOVE-A-84.htm not having any grooves. Seems like nearly every axle intended for oil lube has something close to the classic grooves.

Anyone know why ?

there are 2 versions of that axle, 1 has grooves, 1 does not.

Thanks guys, that all makes sense. Maybe the grooved ones are just out of stock now, so not showing. Or I am just not seeing ...

Well, I am going to build one car now for fun, with my door prize parts (w/grooved axles). It probably won't be competitive as I haven't dripped any oil for a couple of years, but my daughter has noticed that my first three NPWDRL cars were in her brothers' favorite colors (purple, green, blue) ... so you can see where this is going !!
By the way, what do you use to polish the bores on these Eliminator wheels with the smaller hub ?
