I have to agree. The instructions are definitely the base point to use. I would use a nut driver and not a rachet/socket combination. Hand tightened is plenty. Look at the pictures of the Lift n Level if you got that. The angles and their positions are critical.
One thing I find is if the you have lane out of whack and the section you are on is flush on the other side, go to the previous section. Many times, the out of adjustment is there. Other than that, it works pretty well. I just corrected a track last night that was assembled incorrectly. When I set the measurement up right, it worked out pretty well. The Cubmaster was absolutely shocked when all the joints went smooth and together. It took us an hour to correct it all. Of course, it took me a lot longer the first time when I assembled mine. I planned 3 hours and it took me 4.5 hours to get it where I wanted it. I was working by myself.
