After 3 Long weeks of waiting I finally got a notice they shipped my new track today. The K-3 timer was delivered today and the track will be here friday. Now I just wish I had it all set up. Any hints, tips or advice on assembley will be appreciated. As the Jefferson's said...Movin on up....

Just follow the instructions, don't try and jump ahead. I was jumping around and it made me do things twice.

I have to agree. The instructions are definitely the base point to use. I would use a nut driver and not a rachet/socket combination. Hand tightened is plenty. Look at the pictures of the Lift n Level if you got that. The angles and their positions are critical.

One thing I find is if the you have lane out of whack and the section you are on is flush on the other side, go to the previous section. Many times, the out of adjustment is there. Other than that, it works pretty well. I just corrected a track last night that was assembled incorrectly. When I set the measurement up right, it worked out pretty well. The Cubmaster was absolutely shocked when all the joints went smooth and together. It took us an hour to correct it all. Of course, it took me a lot longer the first time when I assembled mine. I planned 3 hours and it took me 4.5 hours to get it where I wanted it. I was working by myself.

I'm about to order a Best Track. It's primarily for testing, though I'm guessing I'll lend it and our time to local scouts too.

I'm considering a 3-lane 35' since setup space for testing is problematic. Coupled with the Microwizard K3 timer, I'm hoping this will be a quality system. I know the standard seems to be 42'... but my thought was as long as I can establish a base time, I'll still benefit from knowing whether changes are going in the right direction.

Not as critical, but the reason for going with 3 lanes is a.) the ability to use it to host races and b.) an easier sell down the road.

Am I on the right "track" (punny) or is there a flaw in my logic.
