First credit to Papa V for the great idea of using aluminum tape and a dab of super glue to attach. I tried it and it worked awesome.

Decided to modify the method a bit and so far it is working pretty good.

-attach alum. tape to car body and another piece to the fender. (my pieces are roughly 1/8" x 5/8")
-scuff tape w/ sandpaper and wipe off dust
-dab of super glue smeared between the two pieces of alum. tape.

Now, when the fender is safely removed their is no glue to scrape off either the fender or car body. I found that when I pulled one off the adhesive was tacky enough to stick it right back on and it stays put/images/boards/smilies/smile.gif

Care to share JBD? Or at least give up a hint??

I've considered micro thin velcro recessed into the body but am not sure how firm it will be when mounted and running down the track.

Apply narrow strip of weight tape to the fender, apply CA glue to weight tape strip, apply fender to car. Rinse and repeat as many times as you'd like. Easy removal and reapplication. Eventually the tape comes off but is easily reapplied. No secrets...

Excellent tip GX!!

Maybe the tungsten weight strip tape used to adjust tennis rackets would hold the fenders on.

Been doing that before it was talked about but I used something a little different but the same purpose.. Some people don't always let the info out lol

Aww c'mon

That one seems almost common sense.

When I want to stick down a curling carpet, but not damage the wood floor:

Lay down a few strips of masking tape onto the wood floor,
then put down your heavy duty double stick.

Thanks Corvid and PapaV, I might be doing all my fenders that way now!

Did I miss a post from Papa V somewhere?

EDIT: I see it now, Corvid mentioned him in the original post. Ooops!
