Good 1st race for a newbie

I was looking at the race schedules and classes. I see there is a race on April 26th. Any qualifications or can all enter? Also as a 1st time racer should I enter street stock novice or amateur (or both)?

The green car in my avatar is for the mid-America but I am working on another.

Busted I see. The first derby car I made with my son as a Tiger fell off the track twice and broke. It was then I choose the screen name of Noskills. I had a coping saw a few files. Now three years later I have a few power tools, a bunch of John's goodies and my son is the two time pack champ. I have gotten the PDW bug now an want to make a few cars of my own.
Not sure why I choose the screen name which is basically my work login (first initial and last name). I should have chosen Dr.T which is what my patients used to call me. I work in research now as an MD but I still like the name Dr.T so I might sign off with that. I might drop the name Noskills now and then too.
Happy to join the forum, see a bunch of familiar names and get some fresh ideas (like the fresh lemony Pledge I just bought)

Hey Seth, Welcome to the board! Sorry I haven't been over there in awhile. There is a bunch of good guys here!! And will answer about any question you have! I look forward to seeing you race at Mid - America I live 2.5 miles away from it and on the commitee.

I just sent in my first car for the race today! Look for a black car called Black Ice with a Skull on it. (or the one that derails the most) lol

Hey Topspin,

I am going by the much cooler name of Dr.T on this board. I figured it was better than Noskills as I now have a few (but not enough) skills. I just bought some more goodies and hope to have a car for the April race. My wife had been pretty anti-PWD as of late and I get dirty looks by just walking towards the garage.

I am fine swimming with the Sharks....for me its all about the making (any winning would of course be gravy!)
