Hey been 15 yrs since I got to do these with my son. Found out he needed one 10 days before race day. We decided on a wedge. Then it kicked up off table while cutting. So we ended up with a thin wedge. LoL Since we didn't have time for nice paint. (My background is body and paint) We went for speed with tips from ya'll here. Used tungsten weights slight cant on rear straight front. All four had to touch. Race day came and the lil car dominated the field. Only car close to it was from the open class. All box stock parts.
Thanks for all tips. Ya'll helped me make a tiger cubs day and mine too.

New thing they started this year is they impound all winning cars for district. Was told we don't even get to pit stop it before race. So we'll have to see how that goes.

I hope that all the Packs in the district are equally bound by that rule. /images/boards/smilies/eek.gif

Congrats on the win! /images/boards/smilies/biggrin.gif

I would hate that. Our rules go the other way. We can build an entirely new vehicle for Districts or Council if we wanted to.

They had like a large camera case with foam they packed 25 or 26 cars in. Same dense type foam with rectangles cut in. Was a tight fit but I'm worried about alignment plus I'd a least like a chance to regraphite. (Is that a word) Car went thru about 12-15 races. I didn't glue axles in place either. Said it was so district would go faster not having to go thru check in. If we get there and cars are being checked in I'll/we'll at least get to whine about it. LoL If not we'll do something different next year. With wheel prep. He'll have fun and that's really all I care about. Plus I didn't really pull out all the tricks because I didn't have time to show him. Axles got debured and sanded. Didn't touch wheels

I'll post some pics when we got car back. Btw how do you post pics here?

Pics are not hosted on this site, you have to use a site like photobucket , image shack, etc. to host and post the link here. If you're on a pc, there's a little photo of a tree in the bar at the top of the reply screen, click that and paste the link from your photo hosting site there. Once the photo is in the reply you can click on it and resize it if it's huge.

If somebody wanted to make a post a pic tutorial, I'll pin and lock it.

Well district was awesome. Ended up 1st overall.
Did get to pit stop. Only allowed to relubricate. Table judge watched and did let me clean wheels after. Everybody else was rolling wheels in graphite. Funniest part of day was in first heat when car came in 3 out of 4. Grandson looked deflated. DD4H graphite turned on after that and it was over. Time difference. 01

Wanted to send it in for box stock. Daughter forbade me to do that. Thought something might happen to it. So Guess we need to build one to send in. Maybe new one won't have the wiggles at the end of track. No clue why it would run 3/4 of the flat then wiggle a lil bit last part.

Any thoughts on the wiggles at last 1/4 of track. Had people telling me it's just waggin it tail at the competition. LoL
