Graphite pre race.

After axel and bore prep the bore then gets burnished with graphite. Do I then pack the wheels with more graphite? After spending hours of reading and prepping my head is getting a bit soft. I think that what I have learned is that with oil less is more and that graphite is the opposite. Is that correct?

yes the more graphite the better

Yes give it a liberal amount and spin the wheels a few times. Most pretty much falls out but you do want a layer other then what was burnished in the wheel.

Thanks guys. My wife has guilted me out of using Johns oil and am now prepping wheels for graphite. I will be using the oil anyway since my daughter is starting to build a car for NPWDRL.

I would NOT PACK the wheels with graphite. There's a video on the net of a guy doing this and that's not what you want to do. Be as liberal as possible with it without packing it in the wheelbore.
