BEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD USA
Hello to all on this forum. I have been trolling around for a few days and decided its time to become a part of this information loaded community. My son and I caught the "Derby bug" last year (2016) after taking a brutal beating at a Royal Ranger Race loosing in everyway. After taking the rest of the year, pooling over the net and learning all we can (this year 2017) he took 3Rd Fastest over all and 2nd Design out of 127 cars. And my car placed 5th in speed and 2nd place Design for leader class. So looking to next years race, why not join this community and get another edge with this information? I'll post pics up later of last year cars/times and this years cars/times.

Welcome! And, while most of us don't have experience with RR and their axle/wheel combo, some do. And there is a boat-load of brainpower here for everything else.

Got home for some pics of our cars for last year....we raced in two races last year in different districts... the reason why so many different cars and I have to add that after trolling this site the workmanship that is displayed in others work is humbling....the 2 flamed cars and red/white cars are mine and the 2 wedge and broken axle one are my sons....

Are those the cars you race in Royal Rangers? They look like Pinecar kits to me.

Vitamn K, they are PWD kits. Rangers do have some weird kit of their own that i don't like as much. They have wooded dial rods for "axles", bicycle tire looking wheels and screws for nails.

Crash EnBurn, the rules are the same except they run 5.50z/156grams. And the track is a 43' aluminum 4-Lane track. there is no modified class so a person can only use what is provided in the kit. No modifided wheels or wheel base.

So, does your Rangers group not use the official RR kit? Or are they letting you race on Pinecar wheels instead of the official kit wheels?

Those are some great looking cars, Cafe!

It is more of we can use either kit and only use the parts from the kit we choose. but I did noticed very few people used the RR kit at the races and the fastest cars were the BSA cars.

And thank you.
