Hidden Rules...Ahaaa, Gotcha!

I with DD4H on stupid rules. I'm all for following the rules no matter how stupid they might be, but hiding them in suggestions on how to build your car is another level of stupid. These are the rules that came in our kit.

Can you find the hidden rule? Where's waldo? This rule by itself is dumb IMO without another rule saying you may not lighten wheels by removing material from the inside. Maybe I'm just a bit perturbed that my son spent so much time on this car and now I have to "touch" the car to make sure it gets it's speed back.

Since the rules say the wheels must maintain their original width and diameter it looks like you're free to lighten them from the inside as much as you'd like. Did he already turn them into razors or something?

EDIT: I just read your other post. Bummer dude!

bracket, I don't disagree with the rule, just that the intent is not clear or fully implemented in the rules...let alone the fact that it was a rule hidden in what I thought were "suggestions" on how to build a car that I glossed over. So since those rules are to be followed...does everyone have to use "at least two coats of paint" and everyone has to "polish the wheels with a lubricant" and "add two coats of sealer to the body".

Why have that rule without limiting "lightness" of the wheel... What's its purpose, unless trying to slow the fast cars down to the slow ones? Limitation on innovation instead of promoting it via publishing suggestions to make it faster. Maybe I misunderstood the intent...I am a bit new to rule interpretation and intent. Oh well, just had to vent I guess, The circumstances of it all just seemed odd. We ran with narrowed wheels the year before but not as much as this year. No one said anything to us last year. Awana wheels will only let you narrow so far before the spokes may be a problem with the guide rail. But I was told in years past they had people come in with what seemed to be described as razors. Not sure how that's even possible when using the "wheels in the kit only" I can only guess the rules were different back then and didn't specify "in the kit".

Guess the car will get checked over real good on race day. Hope they don't add "lubricant" becuase I didn't "polish with lubricant" and I don't have grey stuff speckled all over the car. Or I might...

Thinking a bit on rule intent. I guess it's no different than limiting the length of the car to 7" or the weight to 5 oz.

I didn't see it the first time I read through it. I may have made the same misinterpretation you have.
likely, I think we got it as fast as we can get it with full weight wheels. It's got a small case of the back end wiggles on my track though, can't seem to tune it out.
