Hello,
This is my first time posting here, but I've been a long time reader and love and appreciate everyone's willingness to share and provide advice. I have learned so much.
My son's pinewood derby race is coming up next month. However, the pack rules are EXTREMELY strict. The basics are there, with weight and dimensions. But they go further.
-Do not alter the ridded edges of the wheel
-Do not cone or round the inside hub of wheel
- Do not round off the wheels.
-All four wheels MUST contact the surfaces, entire width of the wheel must contact the surface, not just inside or outside. In other words, wheel must be flat.
In other words, NO altering of the wheel in any way.
- Must use official BSA axels and may be sanded to remove burrs, but no other part of the axles may be otherwise altered.
-Must use precut slots, no altering car's wheelbase.
-Slots may not be altered in any way.
_inspectors must be abled to visually inspect the axle to confirm it's not altered and is correct.
Sorry, I know that's long. But basically NO altering the Axels or wheels at all.
This being the case, would anyone have in advice on what I COULD do to make sure the car goes fast? Obviously I think a rail rider is out of the question.
Thanks in advance.
