I'm in reprep hell ...

Try it QT's way. If you want to strip it, Dawn will completely clean it out. /images/boards/smilies/smile.gif

LOL - I prefer Miralax for a good cleaning out....
blah

Darn it PaPa, There was some good info coming out, then you had to twist it, course then I couldn't hold back.

Thanks everyone!

Car wash .... that makes so much sense - thanks QT! I'll definitely try that, but for now I needed to strip everything down and start over. So they went into soapy (dawn) water and I scrubbed them good.

Hi QT,

Static build up eh?

Fascinating stuff.

Have you tried these final step plastic polishes with an antistatic agent?

Perhaps just on the OD of the wheel?

I have been very curious about products like Brillianize or Novus 1

Thanks,

I still use it.

Where are you guys getting Legend? They quit making it over three years ago and it's my understanding that it goes bad. /images/boards/smilies/smile.gif

I must've got one of the last bottles that SpaceWalker was selling on his site. He doesn't sell it anymore.

It doesn't go bad in it's original container. It does go bad when its transferred into a clear container.

No it is a ridiculously expensive protective coating for cars. It is like a car wax but they say it isn't wax. You can use liquid glass from the same company which is still expensive as far as car protectants go but only $30 instead of $100 but I am told Red Rocket performs better.

I bought the liquid glass. Figured I'd give it a go on my actual cars as well to justify buying it for pinewood derby wheel prep

Thx, sounds like a good plan! I bought a new truck a couple months ago. Polished and waxed it this weekend. I was standing there with this polish in my hands, and...wheel bores popped in my head! Any one tried Race Glaze? Its awesome on real cars... and the name is appropriate! lol Hate to waste a car and a month trying it since I am just now building my first real league car.

I just started in the league and its funny how it's always in my head now...when I see stuff that might be PWD worthy!

Sounds like you need a second car. /images/boards/smilies/smile.gif

Yes...had the same idea! Building two new cars for next month, twice the fun and twice the annoyed looks from my wife! lol One is an experimental body design (for fun) and the other is the standard proven design (for time). My plan may be that the non-standard body design will turn into the test car if I can establish a baseline for it, and it runs consistently on initial trial.

I say focus on the fun car!

You have the rest of your life to settle down!
