I designed a new Eliminator. Had what I thought were some slick ideas. I was waiting for new wheels to come back with my car from the last race. Then I tempted fate, or maybe secured my fate. Before assembling the car and running it down the track once, I finished painting and clear coated it. For me, it looked pretty good.
Bam ! I should have know, this has happened to me every time over the years. Sure enough, when I was able to assemble it with freshly polished wheels and axles, I ran it down the track and it was ... SLOW !!! Too aggressive on the COM, needing some surgery and experimentation. No way I was getting that done before this month's race. #*$^#*&%$&^*#$&*($*
Why is it that when you build a new car and bust it along the way and find a bunch of imprefections in almost every area, more often than not, those cars are FAST !
Just have never figured this out.
