So glad to be back into the thick of things. My son and I have been working on his PWD car for this years race that happens this Saturday. My life has been keeping me so busy that I haven't had a chance to really do anything in the PWD world until it came time for my son's PWD race. we spent 4 hours last night testing and I think we have pulled all the speed we can from his car with the tools that I have for now. The biggest problem I'm facing right now is wheel alignment, with out any of the tools needed to get a "solid" alignment I do the best I can. With my lack of tools we are able to get the car down to 3.098 (42' Best track) graphite. I have tried to find ways to get a solid parallel canted drill but its hard to do. I can get close, but I think that is what's keeping us from breaking into the 2.9x area. I feel confident in the wheel/axel prep and the body design. I've also got a little better with Monokote.

Well just wanted to say "HI" and hope to be around a lot more this year.

Unless you're certain that a 3.09 on your track is an apples-to-apples comparison with a league track, I wouldn't worry much about it.
As it is, it's a rare scout car that'll run a 3.0x or less.

I’d have to agree with Crash on that one. Sounds like your track runs slower than the league tracks. .09 is a huge margin for wheel alignment alone to bridge. You would be able to see toe in the rear wheels just by eye. Going from “pretty close” to “perfect” is only in the .004-.006 range on a league car. It’s probably just your track. Don’t get too hung up on the numbers though, as long as you’re winning, you are fast enough!

Thanks for the replies. He took 1st in Den and Pack, I'm getting ready to go on travel for work and will try to post some pictures later this evening once I make it to the hotel. He had a blast and the pack had some fast cars!!
