Jig-a-loo and other supplies

I have decided to join the racing league and I need to get some supplies. I think I'll enter the BASX and see if I can get a car under 3 seconds. Where is the best place to find the following:

Jig-A-loo (Cant find it anywhere!) Is there a comparable alternative?
Novus 2
Pipe cleaners (non-abrasive kind)

What other household items do you guys suggest?

Will be putting a decent sized order w/ DD4H in the very near future and I'm trying to get organized. Thanks for all your help!

For Jig-A-Loo contact Rocket Car. He has been selling it lately.
Novus 2 try any hardware store or eBay.
Pipe cleaners try a smoking shop, DD4H or ebay.

I believe folks have indicated that "Chain Saver" is an alternative to Jig-a-Loo, though not quite as good. I don't currently run oil, so I haven't messed with any of the stuff.

I bought some Novus 2 on Amazon.

For pipe cleaners...is there a specific brand that folks recommend?

Check with motorcycle shops for Novus. (They use it for windscreens and visors)

I went to my local smoke shop and bought some cotton pipe cleaners they had. No idea what the brand on 'em might be. Just make sure they're actual pipe cleaners, and not the "twisty fun sticks" you can get at the craft stores.

I got my novus2 on Amazon. Chain saver to substitute for Jig until you can find it. Another new alternative would be Mo-Deck mower deck spray but only a few have claimed to try it. They did say it is comparable.

Rockler here in STL sells Novus plastic polish, there's a Rockler store in Sandy Springs, GA that might have it a little closer to you. Or you could just buy DD4H's bore polish when you order the wheels.

Has anybody ever tried using Whitening Toothpaste for bore polishing? I know you can use it to restore scratched headlights, so I imagine it might have some utility for smoothing bores. And nontoxic, to boot!

I don't imagine it would be as good as Novus or DD4H's stuff, but I wonder if it could be a "good enough" alternative for somebody without the ability to get a dedicated polish in a reasonable timeframe.

If your looking for the pipe cleaners local, I have not had any luck at the "smoke" shops. They have the hard plastic bristle ones.
They recommended I go to a Tobacco pipe shop,just have not gotten around to it.

I use toothpaste first, then Novus 2. I think of the toothpaste like a lower grit sandpaper.

I did just get DD4H's polish, though, so I'm not sure if it should replace Novus 2, or be applied subsequent to it.

Interesting! I hadn't imagined that the toothpaste would be coarser than the Novus, but maybe that makes sense. CDs are shinier than teeth, after all.

I have tried several toothpastes and found they do not work anywhere near as good as the novus products. There are tons of other alternatives and some to steer clear from. Its easiest best practice to get these items from DD4H but finding your own alternatives is half the fun and many work as well.
