I forgot to shake the krytox before putting it on the axles. Can I simply take the wheels and axles apart and wipe the axles and re-apply? Or do I have to go through the whole "clean the wheels and axles and re-prep routine"?

You are right, Kinser. It certainly won't hurt to run it and see. If it doesn't run fast, then I'm pulling it off the track like I'm cranking a lawn-mower!

I've experienced "Dumb Luck" with what I thought were mistakes.

Up till now, I've only experienced half of that

If it's straight Krytox, why would you need to shake it up? It's not like there are additives in it........right?

So here's my dilemma:

the car is faster than any other BASX car I have (but based on my rough estimates would put me mid-pack), but I think there is more speed to be drained out of it. I don't know why I think that, but I've got to make a decision whether to pull and clean the wheels and axles. If I do, it probably means the Street Rod I was working on doesn't see Utah this month.

I'd keep the current car as is and build a second faster car. This has always s been my approach.

I will try to build a faster car....just not this month. I have to finish my SS, and then step it up with the Street rod.

Yep... then you build the other cars and race the BASX... But that is my opinion... When you build a faster car, then you tear the slower one down and try to make it faster.

cool

I didnt start this way but imo it wouldnt be a bad idea to start by entering the unlimited class due to the fact you dont have the pains of wheel prep for oil .....the bearing car will run more consistent and you can learn more about how to build the car......if you can build a fast bearing car you are then ready to learn wheel prep and oil process
