I really like the build rules as stated by "the godfather", including no guide pins.
No cutting the wheels in any manner. Bore polishing only.
You can groove and polish the axles anyway you like but the tip of the blunt end must be visible.
Any wheelbase.
Standard dimension and weight rules.
All 4 wheels must be used and mounted in whatever position you choose but the car must roll on supplied wheels. All wheels must spin on the supplied axle.
There is no need to limit builder creativity outside of modding wheels and all using the same wood, nails, and wheels. I would add that if fenders are used they must be crafted from the block the car is cut from to prevent purchasing "add-ons".......but it would be nearly impossible to enforce......
The other issue to discuss is the method of racing. We all know that no 2 lanes are equal, so it would have to be a method involving each car running in 2 or more lanes with lowest average time as the winner.
