MA Live

Ok for those of you that are attending live.... here are some good things to know...

First of all we begin set up on Thursday Evening - and are there until late (like 11pm) then on Friday we are there at the location beginning at 7am - setting up right until the Corporate Pinewood Derby Event - which begins at 5pm. This is something that EVERYONE that is traveling to our event is Welcome to attend and be apart of - we will have Awesome food and Adult Beverages 100% provided for. You are welcome to bring cars - you are welcome to check them in ahead of the masses of people on Saturday. The Corporate Event will conclude around 7:30pm. We will then do some final bit of preparation for things that evenings... any of you are welcome to come hang out.

Then on Saturday - check in begins at 8am and we kick things off at 10am

Here are some updated places that you might want to check out for lodging. Out Host Sponsor CLAAS of North America - has some special rates and deals set up with the following Hotels - You WILL HAVE TO MENTION - that you are part of the CLAAS Rates the below prices are true during the year except during the College World Series and the Warren Buffet Berkshire Hathaway weekend.. which is the same weekend as our race - so you may have to use your charm in saying that you are attending an Event at CLAAS of North America put on by the Boy Scouts of America and they will hopefully get a better rate.

- New Victoria Suites - 10728 L Street (402) 593-2380 $55 per night
- Courtyard by Marriott - next to Cabellas (walking distance from the event) - (402) 339-4900 - $79
- Hampton Inn across from Cabellas (402) 895-2900 - $89

We have special Group Rates set up at
Travel Inn Omaha
10708 M Street, Omaha, NE 68127
(402) 597-4116 - Make sure you tell them that you are with the Mid America Pinewood Derby
$99 a night.

I hope this helps many of you that are traveling to the event - you are going to have an Awesome Time - please make sure to introduce yourself to me.

Greg

OK for those that are attending live, when do you plan on arriving?

Paul- We are leaving KC area about 4:00-4:30 am trying to get there a tad bit earlier if we can... It is a 3 hour drive from our place, if I do the Speed limit it is about 3-1/2 hours... I know MOFAST is heading out the same morning for hi place as well I am not sure what time though.. He would have to chime in on that one...

We have yet to decide if we are coming up the night before or coming in early. I may have the wife drive while I am assembling cars.

Planning on being there by 8 am Saturday. I fly to Baltimore the next day for business so Friday night I need to stay home with the family. If anyone would like my cell phone number to meet up easier, just pm me and I will get it to you.

You best hope she does not read this because you in trouble if she finds out ahead of time... LOL ...
blah

It's looking like we will be getting there Saturday morning.

I think we are shooting for Des Moines Friday night. I was hoping to pull the kids out of school and get there at a reasonable time Friday, but it just isn't going to happen.

You've never seen anyone tune on the check in table? Seat of your pants racing baby!

IAE- Let me know I can bring a Mirror for you to tune on ... LOL and look at yourself at the same time...

Well I know you guys were worried, but have no more fears. After a rigorous (everything jacked up) tuning the cars are still slow. I am sure there is a couple scouts using slots, white Teflon, bent axles, and 2.6 gram wheels we still might beat. Maybe.

Reversed wheels suck, or I should say I suck at running them, should have sent a car to league first to work the bugs out.

Oh well, see you tomorrow.

Well, we will be on our way tomorrow morning. Didn't even have to use and Jedi mind tricks. Or did I
hmmm
