So I had a thought and I figured I'd pass it along and see what you all thought.

I'm thinking of marking all my wheels and axles in some way and keeping a spreadsheet for each so I can track them. Probably keep a zippy bag for each set and track them as they are used. Info like where I purchased them, what cars they were run on, how they performed, number of runs, maintenance performed, all that stuff. Does anyone here do that?

Only problem is, how do I mark them so I know left front, right rear, and so on?

You could maybe use one of those silver paint markers and mark on the inside of the wheel (close to the center, in small letters), something like LF, LR, RR, etc?

I don't think it would add any measurable weight, but perhaps it would be worth checking the balance afterwards, just to be sure.

Some have tried one dot for the DFW, two dots for the wheel right behind the DFW and three dots for the rear wheel kitty corner of the dfw. I tried it (with a sharpie) and it worked like a champ.

Sharpies come in silver also... they are easily seen on the wheels...

I use one to keep my wheels separated so I can do basically the same thing you are doing CWT.

I have separate small ziplock bags for each wheel to keep them separated. Until it's time to put together of course.

I am still in the wheel "tube" stage of keeping wheels... I can't wait till I evolve to the tackle or tool box stage
cool

Right! So starting with DFW which for me is RF, going clockwise, that's basically what I was imagining for my system, I like the idea of dots from a silver sharpie on the inside of the wheel. I will probably create something like this over the weekend.

Thanks for all the ideas!
