Migration

I have started a new car and have drilled everything. It all looks good and I test for wheel migration. I have it forward and back however going forward they migrate at the same pace but back one is a little slower. Can that be fixed or is it even a problem.

Are you slow rolling or rolling it quick? Sometimes slow rolling where it's barely rolling will take a little longer, but like TRE said, it shouldn't be much distance before they both migrate out. Make sure you're using polished axles and wheels for this test. Also, if it's not working, switch the wheels around. I've found that to work sometimes.

Is the car weighted? Is the FDW determined and do you have steer? I believe steer can skew the wheel migration test on a slow roll. Honestly, as long as they both migrate outward, I would race it anyway. I have had cars where the build went perfectly and the car is slow and other times where I just finish a build where I think things are amiss, and on the track, it runs well.

thanks. i am going slow the fdw is straight and i just set weight on it for the test
the wheels and axles i used have been run recently. i will try it after i get wheels and axles ready and go a little faster to see if that helps.
is there an angle that you set up your tuning boards to.

DD4H's zinc axles polish up real nice and are cheap for a set of 5. I got a set for my scout's car to save a little money over the non-grooved stainless steel. After this scout season I plan to use them for my slow roll testing.

I bought 2 pin gauges to use as axles during my slow roll and sometimes I move the weight around between the rears, it will change the migration sometimes depending on where the mass of weight sits. I saw the pin gauge trick on one of these threads and I love it.
