So, I'm going to build a mini. Just have a few questions before I get to far off .
DFW what kind of weight am I shooting for ?
Do I think about rear balance or am I going to run out of places to put it ?

How much extra steer "if any" for the short wheel base ?

I realize these are vague questions, just trying not to build something that is pointless to try & tune.
What am I getting into ?

This might vary between minis, but mine has as much steer as I could put in it. I tried my best to balance the rears, but like you said, you might run out of room. For the DFW, m6 guess would be maybe 15-16 grams. Someone else may have something different, but I think that’s what mine is.

Steer will need to be more. About double that at a 4.75" wheelbase car.

Just center the rear weight. If you end up with more than 12 cubes in front of the rear axle then start a 3rd row and put the extra's on the dominant wheel side. Chasing equal weighting on the rears is a crap shoot in my opinion and much bigger gains found in the basics like the drill, prep etc. Concentrate on the foundation/basics and once you have a stable and competitive car then play around with the left to right weight bias. But when you do get to that point don't be surprise if you pull your hair out trying to find significant speed there.

Generally the build will end up with more weight on the front anyway since the wheelbase is so short. But I wouldn't go less than 16 or 17 grams as the minis need all the stability help they can get.

Good Luck!

lol,
My whole program is a crap shoot.
I just don't want it fly off the track & jam up somebody else's stuff.
I'm going to have look at it a while before I drill the front, that's going to be a lot of angle up there.

Thanks,
