Thanks Scott,

Lightness of the wheel without decreasing the OD by much.

.

I'm using a razor to shave the outside diameter (to cut weight using a tool I bought on ebay) and to true the roundness. Is this a mistake? Is a "larger" wheel better and I should just take off weight from the inside?

I would say, if you're going to go about it that way, just leave them as is out of the box. Sometimes, you can go the wrong way without the proper tools. JMO /images/boards/smilies/smile.gif

Well, I've been known to go the wrong way WITH the proper tools : 0 )

The shaver appears to make sense though, I mean just taking high spots off, but you think the final result could be worse?

I do. I'm guessing it's the pro wheel shaver. The derby worx tools are junk. No disrespect toward you at all. Many people have made the mistake. /images/boards/smilies/smile.gif

If you're really curious, I have a tool that measures runout of the wheels. True up one or a set and mail them to me, I'll video the results and mail them back.
