I have to use the 4 3/8 stock wheel base in scout race, If I move this back, more towards the rear...how far should I go?
Also, the front will have a larger overhang over the wheels- Should I leave all the length on front or cut off the amount I move the wheels toward the rear?
When using the stock wheel base does extending back help speed out or just stability?
Thanks

Have the back wheels 5/8 inch from end. that way your wheels don't stick past car body. you will have a 1/2" remaining for weight. Leave all the length out front to 7 inches. moving the wheel base will just add potential energy (speed) to gain stability, you will need steer.

plhiatt, are you required to use the stock slots? I know some people cut the end off the block and glue it back to the opposite end to keep within the rules. If I have to cut the end off like that, I cut it at an angle so I can slide it down when I glue it back together. It keeps you from losing the 1/8" in length to the saw kerf. If it doesn't make sense I can post a pic or two. Stephen

I can drill the holes, just got to keep the standard wheel base. At least I wont have to use the slots and have to cut and replace.
Thanks,

Ive done the same thing, except ours is 4 1/2" standard base. Took the block and drilled my own holes with the "block" (recommended)
