I thought you guys would get a kick/laugh out of this. I built this when I first started building and I was trying to follow the rules that you had to have all 4 wheels on the car. The front tandom was off the ground.

Yes, I loved this idea when I first saw it on goaskgrandpa
This is rather a sophisticated design for a newbie build.
How many cars have you made?

Ok. I had to google World of Outlaws and this thing looks like fun.
The car bodies are really cool for the "Late Models"
I see these front wheels canting all over the place.
What is with that?

Laserman, the cant on the right front wheel you see on the IMSA car, was there for alignment as the car made its way through the corner. I the idea was a negative camber down the straights but when the car entered the corner the negative camber would transition to a more positive camber as it was making its way through the corner to give the car an edge. The car was brought into a more positive camber alignment when cornering giving the car more bite with that wheel. The 358 class we ran didn't employ this tactic as our car was more tuneable than the IMSA car with other tricks in the chassis. I've forgotten a lot of what I used to know.
Sweet! This a brother? Dad? Son? Cousin twice removed?Kinser said:If you Googled World of Outlaws surely you noticed a familiar name. /images/boards/smilies/biggrin.gif
