NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS TAKING SHAPE! NEED USER INPUT

The issue is the race day oil that gives the live racers the true advantage.

Hmmm... back in the day this oil wasn't dependable... Didn't work well on heavy BSA wheels, worked once in a while on light BSA wheels. Didn't seem to compete at all in razors.... I don't know if I would put all my eggs in that basket.... Run SP last...

I saw it work on Eliminator with my own eyes at the 2014 Nationals. I do agree though, I think it will hurt the majority. Oil is a tricky thing when you start relubing.

Thank you Andy.

Holy cow! You know my real name! HAHAHAHAHA

Looking forward to the Nationals, as I'm sure many of you are. I will again be promoting it heavily in the podcasts.
I hope we have a great turnout from all leagues and that this whole wheel thing is a non-issue. There is plenty of time to get the cars built, prepped and tuned. (But if you are like me, you'll wait til the last minute!)

The wheels are not the issue as far as proxy racing goes. The issue is the race day oil that gives the live racers the true advantage.

Lets clarify this statement John. There were only a couple of times this oil was used by live racers and it wasn't by the regularly live racers. The other leagues? They know! QT or myself have NEVER run this oil. There are only a select few that have ever had access to it and I have never been one of them. I did get beat by it on a couple of occasions though. That's racing!!!

It was never used to my knowledge at any of the league races. None of us were certainly ever going to be offered any! Only one league I know it is used at on a monthly basis.

All wheels matter. We should let people choose what they prefer. Cost is not much different between the two.

I don't care about the wheels, I want to know more about this "race day" oil.... How long does it last? What is it? Who sells/makes it? Who has it? How much faster is it?

Going to go out on a limb here, but being it's a "race day" oil, I would speculate that it probably has a lifespan of, about or around 24 hours or less. Oh! And when you find the answers to the rest of your questions, let me know. /images/boards/smilies/biggrin.gif

My vote is "run what you brung and hope you brung enough"

Keep the class together.

I think a rule should be enforced regarding oil dripping all over the track though.

I saw that at Nationals last year and I have to believe it is a disadvantage for the next few cars to run over the oil that dripped on the track. That might have been 1/2 day oil? Lol

I wasn't expecting for the secret to get let out, was just wishful thinking lol but just in case someone doesn't want to openly post this info pm will be fine....

Tell me it is a joke that people are voting to eliminate the Street Stock class!??

The poll for "There is a group trying to get the old style wheels taken out of the Street Stock class for Nationals." does not include an option for not running the old style wheels in SS. The poll selections should include an option for this.

Since there was not this option, I like LightninBoy, voted "eliminate the SS class" as a proxy for "eliminate the old style wheels".

Folks are claiming the Predators are not any faster, so why is this an issue? If you really believe that, there shouldn't be any issues, put your cars out there and everyone will see. I wish my SS would have made it in the box for MOTM and it would have settled this issue for me. Run them all together. Some of the top racers have tried them and are saying there is no difference. Why is everyone so scared of these wheels then? I probably wouldn't buy new wheels and build new cars in order to run this class, since I didnt even have time to get all cars ready for MOTM.

My opinion...I like them and want to run them and they are on my SS. If they are banned, I probably wont run at nationals.

If you ban these wheels, you need to ban razor wheels unless they are cut by an "approved" vendor so everyone has the same wheels made from the same material. Same for all the classes. Everyone must run the same cut and dimensions then. This is leading down a bad path that will hinder future developments anyone may come up with...

Is this the point of the"group", to ban out some of the top racers or their innovations, to reduce the field so they have a chance to win?
