Pledge on axles

I use this method for my kids Scout cars, and they are 1-2 thousandths faster then pin gage I used last year. Not sure if because of this or a list of other things but they are faster this year. You just have to be very careful with that wire in the pipe cleaner not to scratch bore.

Is this the preferred method at this point? I usually use a polished pin gauge and roll on my thigh.

We do the pin gauge with graphite and then this method to finish it off. I give the end of the pipe cleaner a buzz cut and then insert a tiny piece of shrink tubing over the tip to keep the wire from scratching the bores.

There’s always one thing I always wondered about Joel’s video or even burnishing with graphite period, does any graphite work? Some graphite is just pure graphite. Some has moly in it. Would graphite without moly be better for burnishing or with? That is my question...talking about molybdenum
