Pro Ranking Clarification

[Resophonic Racing]

Just trying to clarify the Pro Ranking. It is currently what many of us are hoping to accomplish this season. If I'm not mistaken the last update to qualify was as follows:

*To get your pro badge, not only must you outperform 3 pro racers (their fastest entries) but you must also finish in the top 3.

I just looked at the results from the January Street Stock race. It looks like the bottom 3 pros were as follows:

Bottom 3 Pros (Qualifying round)
Sogone 2.9853
M9 2.9865
Owens 2.9899

Top 3 Amatuers (Finals Round)
Crewzin 2.9846
Egghead 2.9854

Using the above criteria, it would appear Crewzin made his Pro Rank. Please correct me if I'm wrong. My goal is to get back to a Pro Ranking this season. Egghead missed it by a 1/10,000.

I am pretty sure M9 is Jp07 & Jb2 & Jb07... so the third racer is Chips at 2.9814. I could be wrong.

Well if last month hold true......Looks like you need to average under 2.980 to join the legendary 29! But I suspect times will get faster in February.

These pros are studds, they ran some great races last month. Resophonic got me all wound up inside talking pro. I didnt think I was quite there.. Hope to improve this month..

With the short format I have decided to keep the Ams and Pros points race split for the short series. If you would rather race pro you are more than welcome to step up. The Pro badge might be replaced once again by beating certain time requirements like Opa suggested. Please chime in if you do not like this.

Noticing that the SS class is the only class that has sub-classes. Can an "amateur" still run the other classes or would they automatically be considered to have "pro" status because they would be competing at a higher level? Or does it not have any effect at all? Just wondering.

No effect at all.... Doing well in the "upper" classes doesn't have any connection to how well you can run in SS.... SS is tough....

My thoughts on the Pro Rank. Change the requirement to the following. Finish in the Top 2 of the Amateur Class and have a 4 run average lower than 2.984. After you earn your Pro Rank have different levels of your Pro status. Assuming the track is set for the season and no changes will accur to the start gate or setup, I would suggest the following changes to the Pro Rank badge.

(Pro) Badge color and look same as now (use above criteria).

(Pro Select) Badge color is Changed to Silver (4 Run Average Under 2.980).

(Pro Elite) Badge color is Changed to Gold (4 Run Average Under 2.970)

Sonic Bomb Icon (Anyone who has one run below 2.960)

I think that gives every level of racer something to shoot for. I really want to see a Sonic Bomb this season. I still remember when the Screaming Eagle happened.....ahhh legendary moments!

Reso's format sounds good.. Not sure how much work it would be for Jon. It is awsome to see the street stock Pro badge there, but some speed levels achieved, and badges for Additional achievemants would be way cool and give us another level to shoot for

I still think there should be a sub-3 icon, especially for the Amatures.
