Need some help. When trying to tune our car the rear of the car develops a side to side shimmy / wiggle coming out of the transition onto the flat part of the track. Any suggestion on what could be causing this to happen would be great. The car has rear fenders only and a standard wheel base.

if the shimmy is still there after tightening up the rear gap, the only thing left without a major rebuild is to add more steer. last season i was the shimmy master, i lost out a few first places because of the shimmy's in the Eliminator class.

+1

More steer. It may just be a tiny bit though. You want run it real close to wiggle without wiggling.

It has been my experience that the pro tracks are set up a better then mine - so even if I have a slight shimmy every few runs - when they get to the pro track they don't shimmy. But the info above is all spot on. Tighen up the gaps, and a bit more steer. If this doens't work and you can adjust weight some - try to get a bit more weight on the DFW.

this year i set up for more steer than i think i need, and "tune it" out till i get the first sign of a wiggle, then i go back just a bit.

We adjusted the steer as suggested and the wiggle went away. Thanks, onto the next thing.
